BRAHMS Clarinet Trio in A minor, Op.114

Formed in 2011 by three of the most exciting chamber musicians in Scandinavia, the Danish Clarinet Trio have given concerts in Italy, England,Wales, Denmark and Brazil. They will undertake their first US tour this year.  Praised by the New York Classical Review after a concert in the 2018 Belfast International Arts Festival, the trio “tore into the dazzling passage-work and soared on wings of song.”

Both Robert and Clara Schumann are featured in this programme along with one of the late clarinet works of Johannes Brahms inspired by the playing of Richard Mühlfeld. Simon Rowland-Jones joins two members of the trio for a performance of Robert Schumann’s alternately serene and manic Märchenerzählungen.
