ECHEA QUARTET LIVE RECORDED CONCERT 20th NOVEMBER,                                          recorded at The Old Chapel (Yorke Trust) South Creake

SCHUBERT String Quartet in D minor D.810 'Death and the Maiden'

BRAHMS String Quartet in A minor Op.51 No.2

As you probably know, the Echéa Quartet was booked to give a couple of NNMF concerts that should have taken place last weekend at The Maltings, Wells-next-the-Sea, but because of lockdown they had to be cancelled. However they still made a planned visit to Norfolk towards the end of October to spend an intensive week of working together outside London, and on the spur of the moment were able to take advantage of lockdown by staying on at the Old Norwich Arms in South Creake for a whole month. This was made possible under the auspices of The Royal College of Music together with the generosity of Rodney Slatford and The Yorke Trust. During this period they received extensive coaching from Simon Rowland-Jones as well as several sessions with John Myerscough from the Doric Quartet on the two pieces in this live recorded concert.
Many of those who had booked tickets for the Wells concerts asked for the costs of the tickets to be passed on to the quartet so that they did not go home empty handed. Those of you who did not book tickets but have enjoyed the concert online, and who would still like to support the Quartet are welcome to make a donation below 100% of which will go to the quartet.  If you are able to claim GiftAid then please let us know.
