At only 20 years old, British pianist Thomas Kelly has already achieved remarkable success, with a performance of Brahms’ 2nd piano concerto at Cadogan Hall and two appearances
at Wigmore Hall. At the Pianale International Piano Competition in Germany he won the EuroRadio Youth Concert Prize, the senior jury prize, and was rewarded with a recital in Bayreuth in July 2018. He is currently studying at the Royal College of Music in London with Andrew Ball.
The middle two works in Thomas’s ambitious programme are the thrilling 5th sonata by Scriabin and Busoni’s operatic fantasy inspired by a performance of Bizet’s Carmen that he heard in Paris.
