Melvyn Tan returns to South Creake for the eighth consecutive Festival. Each year he has performed to capacity audiences with his outstanding performances and programmes. This year, Melvyn is back for another solo recital but will also be working with two young pianists in the NNMF Masterclasses, preparing them for their own concerts at St Mary’s.
Born in Singapore, Melvyn first came to notice with his performances on fortepiano, quickly becoming one of the world’s best-known musicians. He has played as a guest soloist with all the world’s leading orchestra around the globe. Recent performances have taken him to Linz and Vienna. His 60th birthday concert at Wigmore Hall was broadcast live on Radio 3.
Melvyn is an Artist in Residence at Singapore’s the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory.
He continues to add to his extensive discography.
